Abstract text:

The focus of the system is to develop a web-based application for the visualization and analysis of data observed by GNU Chirpsounder2. Chirpsounder2 is free, open-source software that uses Software Defined Radios to automatically generate ionograms from received signals of opportunity transmitted by linear frequency modulated (LFM) ionosondes. The major features of the web-based application are the Transmitter’s and receivers' information in the tabular form with meta data like TX_Code, RX_Code, generation date of data, LFM files, and Ionograms with an interactive User Interface. The system would be able to display the filtered and sorted ionograms with TX_Code and RX_Code based on two parameters such as the distance between the transmitter and receiver, and the chirp rate. Visualization of ionograms plots to represent data and advanced search and filtering options based on certain parameters such as TX_Code, RX_Code, and date range has been implemented in the system. This system aims to make the data collected by the GNU Chirpsounder2 software more usable by both the professional and citizen science communities.
