Abstract text:

In the poster, we compare the neutral winds, plasma density and drifts obtained by ICON and WAM-IPE operational simulations between 2021 and 2022. The seasonal averages show fair agreement between neutral winds in the F region and obvious differences in the E region neutral winds, especially between 90 and 110 km in the zonal direction. The seasonal averages of plasma density and drifts show many departures between observations and simulations. Detailed analysis is further conducted to reveal how the differences between the E region wind contribute the differences between the plasma density and drifts. This poster highlight the necessity to improve the E region neutral winds simulated by WAM-IPE and to obtain better specification of F region ionosphere plasma environment.
